Grant Shapps Succeeds Ben Wallace As New Defence Minister Of United Kingdom

Grant Shapps was named the UK’s new defence secretary on Thursday, succeeding long-serving Ben Wallace.

After being seen arriving at 10 Downing Street, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s office confirmed the appointment of Shapps, 54, who presently works as energy security and net zero secretary.

Britain’s Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has resigned, the prime minister’s office confirmed Thursday. Wallace stated last month that he would step down in the next UK government cabinet reshuffle.
