5 Morning Habits Better Than Meditation
Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva
The Sirio-Libanes Hospital in the nation’s capital of Brasilia said on Saturday that Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is clinically stable one day after hip surgery and has started to walk in rehabilitation sessions.
Lula had surgery on Friday for right hip arthrosis, which is characterized by highly painful wear and tear of the cartilage on the head of the femur.
His physicians expect him to stay in the hospital until Tuesday when he will be transferred to the presidential mansion and govern for three weeks while he recovers.
Under general anesthesia, the arthroplasty process entailed removing the head of the femur and implanting a prosthetic.
Giancarlo Polesello, the orthopedic physician who performed the surgery, said Lula would have to avoid standing for too long and would need to use a walker in the first few weeks since the treatment affects the patient’s balance.
The Brazilian President has stated that he has been in continual discomfort for more than a year, despite the fact that he has traveled to dozens of nations since taking office in January.
Lula will only resume presidential excursions overseas at the end of November when he plans to visit the United Arab Emirates for the COP28 global climate convention.
