Watch: 4 Bengaluru men hang out of moving car and dance, arrested for dangerous driving

Four men were apprehended after a video showing them hanging out of a moving car in Bengaluru’s sunroof and windows went viral on social media. People in the following car captured the video, which highlighted the boys’ possible legal repercussions due to their actions and expressed regarding the dangerous act. It is said that the incident happened on NH 7, commonly referred to as Airport Road.

The footage showed a busy road with lots of moving cars on it. A Honda City sedan with an electric sunroof was spotted in the middle of the road. Two people were stood outside the sunroof, despite the space being very restricted. There was another sitting on the rear window frame on the right-hand side, merrily chatting with his friends. A fourth also made an attempt to break through the back left window, but appeared to struggle and pulled back inside the vehicle.

As if that weren’t enough, people were seen dancing sexily on top of the moving car while standing on the sunroof.

The four people were later arrested by the Chikkajala traffic police. They were identified as the driver, Salman Faris (age 23), and his friends, Mohammed Nusaif (age 21), Salmanul Faris (20), and Nasim Abbas (age 21) from Kerala, who were studying at various colleges in the city. “On Chikkajala Traffic Police Station’s Twitter (X) account, video was uploaded regarding rash and negligent driving in which 4 boys were found protruding outside car windows and sunroof on Bangalore International Airport Road,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Sachin P. Ghorpade, IPS, in response to the incident.

Police said, “A case was registered against them and legal action has been initiated as per law.”

The accused are charged under Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act (MV Act), Section 279 of the Indian Penal Code (endangering human life by reckless or careless driving), and Section 283 of the Indian Penal Code (creating danger or obstruction in a public way). Nevertheless, it is still unclear if they had consumed alcohol or not.
