A delivery boy named Sahil never thought that one late food delivery can change his fortune. Sahil went to deliver ice cream to Priyanshi Chandel, who works as a marketing manager in a tech company. He reached 30-40 minutes late at her place. When Chandel asked Sahil the reason for the delay, he told that he did not have any vehicle, so had to walk 3 kilometers to reach the flat.
On further questioning Sahil told Priyanshi that he has a degree in Electrical and Communication Engineering and has worked in Byju’s and Ninjacart. But after losing his job in the Corona pendemic, 30-year-old Sahil had to return to his home in Jammu. Sahil said to Priyanshi, ‘Ma’am, I do not have a bike to travel, I have come walking 3 kilometers to deliver this order.
He further added that he is left with no money because his flat mate took whatever he had, which he could have used in charging his yulu bike. He also shared that he is in debt of Rs.235. He had no money to pay his rent to his landlord.
Adding more he said, “Even for the delivery of this order, I will get only Rs 20-25, and I have to take the second delivery before 12 noon, else they will send me for delivery somewhere far, and I do not have bike. I haven’t eaten for a week, and have been surviving on water and tea. I am not asking for anything, please if you can find some work for me it will of great help. Earlier I used to earn 25 thousand rupees, my parents are getting old and I cannot keep asking money from them.”
After this, Priyanshi decided to help Sahil in whatever way possible. She shared Sahil’s e-mail along with his marksheets on LinkedIn and wrote, ‘If anyone has any job for office boy, admin work, customer support, please help him.’ After this many people came forward to help. Some got his Yulu bike recharged, while others ordered food for delivery. After some time Priyanshi gave an update saying that Sahil landed in a job.
