President Trump Hails Senate Approval Of ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ As Republican Victory

US President Trump celebrated a key win as the Senate passed the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ supporting his core policies.

The bill narrowly passed with a 51–49 vote, with all Republicans voting in favour, except Senators Thom Tillis, Ron Johnson, and Rand Paul, who sided with the Democrats.

President Trump took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to declare the outcome a ‘GREAT VICTORY’ for the Republican Party.

Taking to X, the White House posted, “Tonight we saw a GREAT VICTORY in the Senate with the “GREAT, BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL,” but, it wouldn’t have happened without the Fantastic Work of Senator Rick Scott, Senator Mike Lee, Senator Ron Johnson, and Senator Cynthia Lummis.”

He said the bill would boost the economy, cut spending, secure borders, support the military, and uphold gun rights.

Bill targets immigration, tax cuts, and defence spending

The Big Beautiful Bill is a comprehensive legislative effort aimed at supporting Trump’s core policy agenda. It proposes:

• Extending the 2017 tax cuts implemented during Trump’s first term
• Increasing military and border security spending
• Allocating $350 billion for national security and immigration enforcement
• Providing $46 billion for the US–Mexico border wall
• Funding $45 billion for 100,000 new migrant detention facility beds

The legislation also reinforces the US President’s push for the largest mass deportation operation in US history, aligning with his re-election campaign pledge to crack down on illegal immigration.

Next steps for the Legislation

With the Senate’s approval secured, Republican leaders now aim to rally support in the House of Representatives to fast-track the bill’s implementation.

President Trump’s focus on immigration and security highlights his influence on the GOP and shapes his 2024 campaign.
