Uttarakhand will become the first Indian state to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced on Wednesday

According to Dhami, the bill's draft was created in compliance with the Constitution. "After independence, the makers of the Constitution gave the right under Article 44 that the states can also introduce the UCC at appropriate time..."

Mr. Choudhary also expressed admiration towards Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for proposing the implementation of the bill.
