PM Modi Wishes Nitish Kumar as He Resigns, Call Received Before Raj Bhavan Visit: Media Reports

Prashant Kishor expressed his belief that the newly-formed alliance between JD(U) president Nitish Kumar and the BJP in Bihar

His sharp-witted jibe had then come in the backdrop of several politicians switching sides ahead of the Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat assembly polls.

Kumar will serve as acting chief minister till a new government is formed.

In the Bihar Assembly, comprising 243 seats, the RJD is the largest party with 79 MLAs, followed closely by the BJP with 78. The JD(U) holds 45 seats, while the Congress has 19.

There might be two deputy chief ministers for the BJP led government, one of whom might be a woman.

The meeting, held at the Veerchand Patel Marg office, saw the participation of BJP MPs, constituting the largest contingent of 17 members out of the total 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar

In preparation for the forthcoming developments, both the BJP and Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United) have called upon their respective MPs and MLAs to finalize the details of the alliance.

Sinha said, "Our central leadership is watching the political situation in Bihar. Whatever decision is taken by our central leadership, will be accepted by BJP leaders here".

PTI has been informed by the JD(U) that although the party remains committed to the Opposition bloc, it would like the Congress to reflect on the alliance and seat sharing.
