Bihar Politics: Bihar appears to be getting a new administration even as Nitish Kumar, the chief minister, continues to hold the top position by replacing the RJD with the BJP as his partner. Political circles in this place were aflutter with rumors that Nitish would take the oath of office as chief minister for a record-breaking ninth time. However, constitutional experts clarified that Nitish does not have to go through the formalities of resigning and taking office again; instead, he can form a new coalition by removing RJD ministers and appointing BJP members in their place.
Hindustani Awam Morcha extends support
In order to ensure that the soon-to-be stitched ruling combine has a majority in the 243-seat assembly and can accomplish the immediate goal of bringing in a Speaker, most likely from the BJP, to replace RJD’s Avadh Bihari Chaudhary, Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), led by former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, pledged its support to the NDA with the support of four MLAs.
After meeting with party MLAs on Sunday morning, Nitish will likely call a joint gathering of NDA lawmakers and MPs at his home. He will then either tender his resignation or fire the RJD ministers and provide the governor with a new letter of support from the BJP and HAM(S). “He might be asked to take an oath in the evening by the governor.”Let us observe the course of events in the morning,” a person with knowledge of the happenings stated.
