Abedin stressed the need for peaceful resolution of internal issues within the country. He urged for proactive initiatives to address disputes outside of legal proceedings.

He gave the assurance that Hindus would not look at other temples if the Muslim side agreed to amicably resolve the issues surrounding Gyanvapi and Krishna Janambhoomi.

Allahabad High Court refused to grant an interim stay on the Varanasi court's decision allowing Hindu prayers in the Gyanvapi mosque cellar.

It also demanded that Hindus be permitted to offer "sewa puja" to the 'Shivlinga' found in the "so-called Wazukhana area" at the disputed site.

According to Madan Mohan Yadav, the lawyer for the Hindu side, District Judge A K Vishvesh ordered that both the Muslim and Hindu parties submit an affidavit promising to keep the report confidential.

The ASI team began the survey work at 7 a.m. in the Gyanvapi premises. During the survey, information about various aspects was gathered. On the second day of the survey, representatives from the Muslim side also participated.

"If we call it a mosque, there will be a dispute and the government wants a resolution to it", he said adding that it has been a 'historical mistake' from the Muslim side.

A suit was filed in the Varanasi District Court seeking the right to regular worship of Ma Shringar Gauri and other deities whose idols the petitioners said are located in the mosque complex.
