Mahayuti alliance emerges victorious in Maharashtra, leading in 220 out of 288 seats, challenge by Shiv Sena faction to ECI decision has failed to gain traction.

As counting began for the 2024 elections, the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance led with 172 seats in Maharashtra, while the MVA trailed with 47.

Polling began across 288 constituencies in Maharashtra, with 1,00,186 stations set up, including 42,604 in urban and 57,582 in rural areas.

The list, announced late Tuesday night, features Chief Minister Shinde contesting from Kapri-Pachpakhadi. Several of his ministerial colleagues have also been renominated, including Gulabrao Patil (Jalgaon Rural), Sanjay Rathod (Digras), Abdul Sattar (Sillod), and others.
