Adding a touch of glamour, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Madhuri Dixit were among the attendees.
The leadership decision followed extensive deliberations. Despite Eknath Shinde’s aspirations for the top position, the BJP maintained its stance, ultimately leading Shinde to support Prime Minister Modi’s choice of Fadnavis.
The 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections delivered a historic victory for the MahaYuti alliance, which secured 235 seats.
The BJP emerged as the largest party with 132 seats, followed by Shiv Sena with 57 seats and the NCP with 41 seats.
In contrast, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) suffered a significant defeat. Congress won just 16 seats, Shiv Sena (UBT) secured 20 seats, and the Sharad Pawar faction of the NCP managed only 10 seats, marking a major political shift in the state.
