Fadnavis Begins His Third Term as Chief Minister
Fadnavis now serves his third term as Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He led the BJP-Shiv Sena government from 2014 to 2019. After the 2019 elections, when Shiv Sena split from the BJP over the CM post, Fadnavis briefly returned as CM with Ajit Pawar as his deputy. However, the government lasted only 72 hours.
After a split in Shiv Sena, Fadnavis became Deputy Chief Minister in the Mahayuti government led by Eknath Shinde. His third term marks a new chapter in Maharashtra’s politics.
