On the Supreme Court constitutionally validating the removal of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav says, "Now that the Supreme Court has given its decision today, after it nothing new can be said anymore. People can give their opinion on the Supreme Court but everyone agrees to it. But there are a few colleagues who might still think that the decision is not in favour of the sense with which Article 370 was implemented. There are still a few questions related to the security of the borders, BJP will have to tell the people of the country what more concrete decision will be taken by it regarding security of the borders. Questions were raised regarding Ladakh and China had transgressed, it continues to remain stationed there and it has not stepped back. Questions were raised regarding the delimitation of Vidhan Sabha, seats are still vacant there. PoK is not yours but you don't accept that. Those seats are still vacant. Will BJP take a decision regarding filling those vacant seats in the time to come?"

Due to some political misunderstandings, the then political leadership had given a special status to J&K through Article 370. The Parliament had removed this Article. But still, there were some questions due to the pendency of this case. They have been cleared after today's verdict. Indian Air Force (IAF) is undergoing a transformation to become the Indian Air and Space Force (IASF) in order to enhance its capabilities in the aerospace domain. The IAF has formulated a new doctrine called Space Vision 2047 and is collaborating with organizations like Isro, DRDO, IN-SPACe, and the private industry to develop niche space-related technologies. The IAF is also working towards the establishment of a full-fledged Space Command and aims to have over 100 military satellites.

North Central Railways begins sleeping pod facility for passengers
North Central Railways (NCR) has started process of providing sleeping pod facility to its passengers before commencement of the Magh Mela on Makar Sankaranti, January 14, in Prayagraj. The Prayagraj division of NCR had floated a tender for installation of sleeping pods at Prayagraj Junction. After completing all formalities, work has been awarded to a Pune-based company which has commenced work. Authorities are optimistic that facility will be open for the travellers before commencement of Magh Mela.
YSRCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy resigns
In a blow to ruling YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh, its MLA from Mangalagiri constituency Alla Ramakrishna Reddy resigned from Assembly and the party. Ramakrishna Reddy, considered close to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, submitted his resignation to Speaker's OSD as former was not available in his office. He told media that he submitted his resignation in Speaker’s format and also requested latter to accept resignation. Ramakrishna Reddy said he would soon reveal the reasons for his resignation.
