WFI Chief Misbehaves With Reporter On Resignation Question, Refuses To Step Down

Brij bhushan Sharan Singh, WFI Chief denied to step down despite chargesheet being filed by Delhi Police. While Responding to reporter’s question six time MP not only refused to resign but also misbehaved with journalist by slamming his car’s door on his mic.

As per the sources, Delhi police has filed 1000 page chargesheet against the WFI chief. The chargesheet was filed after full fledged investigation which included questioning over 100 people among which 15 were in the favour of wrestlers who accused BJP MP of sexual harassment.

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh is accused of stalking, criminal intimidation and sexual harassment. Under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act, a second FIR (First Information Report) was filed against him based on claims made by a young wrestler. Under the two charges, he may spend three or seven years behind bars. Due to lack of evidence Delhi Police asked to cancel POCSO case against the WFI Chief.

Delhi Police said that there is enough evidence to punish the accused. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has summoned the Wrestling Federation chief on July 18.

When questioned about the allegations regarding sexual harassment against him, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh said he would “speak in court” and declined to offer any “masala” to the media.

Singh had already refuted all charges and stated that he would only resign if Prime Minister Narendra Modi wanted him to do so.

Earlier this year, the wrestler, many of whom had won medals at the national and international level, held a protest and demanded that severe punishment for WFI Chief. They took to the streets in April and staged a protest at Jantar Mantar till they were forced to leave after numerous run-ins with the Delhi Police.
