Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh

The Delhi High Court on Thursday directed the female complainants who have accused former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual harassment and intimidation to file their responses to his plea seeking the quashing of the FIR and related criminal proceedings.

Delhi Police stated that security personnel were temporarily reassigned for routine training and practice, refuting any malicious intent.

Another prosecution witness, a victim, did not appear due to medical reasons. The court has summoned her to record her statement on August 23

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, previously WFI chief and facing sexual harassment allegations, welcomed the election of his associate Sanjay Singh to the top post in the wrestling body.

"Whatever has to be done with regards to wrestling in India, it has to be done by the newly elected body," Brij Bhushan told.

On Sunday, the Union Sports Ministry dragged the wrestling organization and all of its office holders up.

Olympic medallist Sakshee Malikkh, a vocal critic of the former chief, has declared her resignation from the sport in response to this outcome.

Brij Bhushan's legal team contended that one complainant had accused Brij Bhushan of sexual harassment in the Delhi office of the Wrestling Federation of India but repeatedly changed the date of the incident.

BJP MP and Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) Chief, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, faced the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi for his bail plea hearing after being accused of sexual harassment, assault, and stalking by six women wrestlers.

The Delhi Police said that the evidence is enough to punish the accused. Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh said that he will only resign if PM Modi wants him to do.
