Tripura’s Voter Turnout Stands At 54.47% Till 1 pm In Second Phase Of Lok Sabha Elections

Tripura’s voter turnout has significantly increased; according to the Election Commission of India, the North-Eastern state’s voting percentage stood at 54.47 % as of 1 p.m.

Other states where higher voter turnout has been recorded are — Manipur (54.26 per cent), Chhattisgarh (53.09 per cent), and Assam (46.31 per cent).
So far, Maharashtra has registered the lowest voting percentage in phase 2 of Lok Sabha polls with 31.77 per cent till 1 pm.

The following states’ voting percentages for the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections, till 1 p.m. Bihar has registered a 33.80 per cent voter turnout, Jammu and Kashmir (42.88 per cent), Karnataka (38.23 per cent), Kerala (39.26 per cent), Madhya Pradesh (38.96 per cent), Maharashtra (31.77 per cent), Rajasthan (40.39 per cent), Uttar Pradesh (35.73 per cent).

Meanwhile, voting in 88 Parliamentary Constituencies located over 12 States and Union Territories started at 7:00 am on Friday for the second round of the Lok Sabha elections 2024.

While the opposition group, INDIA, a coalition of opposing parties created to challenge the BJP in the general elections, is aiming to remove Prime Minister Narendra Modi from office, who is trying every bit to win third consecutive term in office.

In order to make it easier for voters to visit the polls, the polling hours in numerous polling places in the Bihar constituencies of Banka, Madhepura, Khagaria, and Munger have been extended until 6 PM due to the extreme heat.
Because of the passing of a Bahujan Samaj Party candidate, the Madhya Pradesh 29-Betul PC polling was moved to the third phase.

Phase I voting for 102 seats was concluded on April 19.

Voter registration for first-time voters stands at 34.8 lakh. In addition, 3.28 crore young voters between the ages of 20 and 29 cast ballots. There are 1202 contenders in the race (1098 men, 102 women, and 02 members of the third gender). There will be seven phases to the polls, and the results will be announced on June 4.
