A large-scale anti-terror operation is underway along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu district, security forces confirmed on Saturday.
The operation began following reports of suspected terrorist movement in the Jogwan forest area. Officials said locals alerted the police after spotting three to four armed suspects in the region on Thursday. Security forces swiftly cordoned off the area and launched the operation.
Authorities have intensified efforts against terrorists, overground workers (OGWs), and sympathizers. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has instructed security forces to dismantle the terror ecosystem entirely in Jammu and Kashmir.

Just days later, on October 24, terrorists ambushed an army vehicle in the Botapathri area of Gulmarg, killing three soldiers and two civilian porters.
On November 2, a grenade attack at Srinagar’s busy Sunday Market near the Tourist Reception Centre claimed the life of a mother of three and injured nine civilians.
