Dr Rajeshwar Singh, MLA from Sarojininagar, shared a detailed statement on social media on Friday, presenting his bold vision for Lucknow’s transformation into a digital and technology hub. He said that the city, once famed for its culture, is now reshaping itself into India’s most awaited tech identity.

India’s first AI city to rise in Lucknow

Dr Singh announced the development of India’s first Artificial Intelligence City in Lucknow, spanning 70 acres. It will host AI-focused companies, startups, and research institutes. He described the project as a digital reality in the making and a central pillar of Uttar Pradesh’s digital future.

He emphasised the need to accelerate its progress and highlighted its significance for innovation and employment. Global tech giants, including IBM, Deloitte, Sify, Genpact, inMobi, UsefulBI, and Teleperformance, have already set up operations in Lucknow within just six months.

Strategic projects transforming Sarojininagar

Dr Singh stated that Sarojininagar is evolving into a national innovation and defence hub. Key projects include India’s largest Aerocity (1,500 acres), the upcoming AI City, DRDO labs, a Naval Shaurya Museum, BrahMos production, and the State Institute of Forensic Science.

He announced the ₹240 crore Centre of Excellence at AKTU, along with new campuses and institutions. UsefulBI and Dassault Systèmes are opening their second Indian offices in Lucknow, reflecting global confidence.

Dr Singh emphasised that 35% of Bengaluru’s tech professionals hail from Uttar Pradesh and are now returning. The 2023 NASSCOM–Deloitte report named Lucknow as one of India’s next major tech hubs.

Call for AI commission and policy framework

To support AI development, Dr Singh has written to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath seeking the creation of a Uttar Pradesh Artificial Intelligence Commission. He said such a body is essential to frame AI policy, guide research, and set standards.

Dr Singh credited CM Yogi’s leadership for this digital revolution. “Sarojininagar is becoming the heartbeat of India’s digital future,” he wrote. “We are building Uttar Pradesh’s tomorrow, today.”
