After the event, PM Modi told the gathering that the collective recitation infused him with renewed energy.

He said, “Participating in the Gita recital with one lakh people is like attaining the fruits of innumerable good deeds. The blessings bestowed upon me today strengthen my resolve to work harder for the nation.”

Collective Chanting Creates ‘New Energy’

Quoting the Ram Charit Manas, PM Modi observed that in Kalyug, chanting the Gita and devotional hymns offers a path to spiritual growth.

He said that when one lakh voices recite the Gita in unison, the vibrations create a powerful energy that elevates mind and body.

He praised Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji for his vision behind the global Koti Gita Yagna, calling it a movement dedicated to Sanatana Dharma and showcasing the strength of collective consciousness.

The Prime Minister applauded young people who are showing interest in India’s philosophical texts.

He emphasised that India has a tradition of transmitting the knowledge of the Vedas, Upanishads and Shastras to the younger generation, adding that the programme has helped connect youth to the Bhagavad Gita in a meaningful way.

Udupi’s Role in the Ram Janmabhoomi Movement

PM Modi also highlighted Udupi’s significant contribution to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement.

Recalling his recent visit to Ayodhya for the Dharma Dhwaj hoisting ceremony, he also said that the region’s spiritual leadership played an important role in shaping the movement.

He remembered the late Vishvesha Teertha Swamiji and noted that one of the entrances of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya has been named after Jagadguru Madhvacharya.

PM Modi paid tribute to saints such as Purandaradasa and Kanakadasa, who brought devotional teachings to the masses through simple Kannada.

Their influence, he said, continues to resonate strongly with today’s youth.

He expressed his affection for Karnataka, praising its hospitality and vibrant spiritual culture.

Following the event, PM Modi visited the Madhwa Sarovara, performed a special puja, unveiled the golden ‘Kanaka Kavacha’ at the sacred Kanakana Kindi, and garlanded the statue of Kanakadasa.
