Patiala House Court Gives Relief To Arun Reddy Arrested In Edited Video Case Of Amit Shah

Leader Arun Reddy, arrested in the edited video case of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, has got a big relief from Patiala House Court. The court has granted bail to Arun Reddy on a personal bond of Rs 50,000 with certain conditions. The court said that there is no need to interrogate the accused further by taking him into custody. Mentioning that nothing else should be seized from the accused as his phone has already been seized.

The court has ordered Arun Reddy to surrender his passport. Arun Reddy cannot go abroad without the court’s order, cannot threaten witnesses and cannot tamper with evidence. The court also directed that he will join the investigation whenever required. Besides, he has been instructed to give his mobile number to the SHO and to always keep the mobile on.

Arun Reddy was arrested by Delhi Police. He handles the account Spirit of Congress on the social media platform X. In the complaint filed against Arun Reddy, it has been said that Shah’s statement in the video talks about his commitment to end the quota for Muslims on religious grounds, whereas looking at the fake video circulated by manipulation, it seems that Shah was saying about ending all types of reservations.

Police officers investigating the case say that after initial probe, they can find indications of criminal conspiracy in the case. On that basis, Section 120B i.e. criminal conspiracy has been added. The Special Cell of Delhi Police had registered a case under sections 153, 153A, 465, 469, 171 G of the IPC.

According to the police, Arun Reddy has a role in making deepfake videos of Amit Shah. He also played an important role in making this video viral. Arun Reddy is also accused of destroying evidence from the mobile. Delhi Police has seized Reddy’s phone and sent it to the forensic lab for investigation. A fake video of Amit Shah regarding reservation went viral on social media. In this video, the misconception was being spread that Amit Shah had talked about removing the reservation for SC, ST and OBC.

Refuting this, Amit Shah targeted the opposition after which FIR was registered. In this case, Hyderabad Police had arrested five social media workers of Telangana Congress. Later, the lower court granted bail to all of them on a personal bond of Rs 10,000 each.
