When questioned about it, Additional Superintendent of Police Nitesh Bhargava told reporters that they had got in touch with the victim and acknowledged having seen the three- to four-day-old video footage.

He said, “After the videos came to the notice of the police, we proactively contacted the victim’s home but he was not present there. “I have spoken to the victim over the phone and he will be meeting me. However, the main reason behind the incident is still unknown and will be confirmed after having a conversation with the victim.

According to sources the man eloped with a married woman from the Banjara community of Bhilkhedi hamlet, which is under the jurisdiction of Bhatpachlana police station.
