A man in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain district allegedly eloped with a married woman after which he was brutally beaten, made to drink urine, and had to wear a garland of shoes said police officials.
Social media users saw some videos of the incident, but however the man hasn’t complained yet, according to the police.
In one of the video, the man can be seen sipping what appears to be urine from bottle while wearing a garland of shoes. Several others are shouting at him and pressuring him to swallow the liquid. The woman with whom he allegedly eloped was also seen thrashing him.
In a another video, the man was shown being made to place another slipper on his head after kissing the one he was holding in his hand. The man had half of his head shaved and moustache cut off.
When questioned about it, Additional Superintendent of Police Nitesh Bhargava told reporters that they had got in touch with the victim and acknowledged having seen the three- to four-day-old video footage.
He said, “After the videos came to the notice of the police, we proactively contacted the victim’s home but he was not present there. “I have spoken to the victim over the phone and he will be meeting me. After verification of the accused and the place of the incident, legal action will be initiated.”
However, the main reason behind the incident is still unknown and will be confirmed after having a conversation with the victim.
According to sources the man eloped with a married woman from the Banjara community of Bhilkhedi hamlet, which is under the jurisdiction of Bhatpachlana police station.
