Manish Sisodia’s Judicial Custody Extended Till May 8 Over Excise Policy Case

The troubles of Manish Sisodia, who was arrested in the money laundering scam, don’t seem to end. The court has extended the judicial custody of Manish Sisodia till 8 May.

During the hearing today, ED asked for more time in the court to file its reply. The court gave ED time till 8 May. The court said that ED should file its reply regarding inspection of documents by 12 noon on May 8.

Earlier, Arvind Kejriwal had demanded an early hearing from the Supreme Court in the money laundering case related to excise policy, on which the court had asked to send an email. Arvind Kejriwal has also been sent to jail in a similar case, like Manish Sisodia was sent.

Delhi Mayor-Deputy Mayor election postponed

Election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Delhi has been postponed. This election was to be held on Friday (April 26), but it has been postponed due to the presiding officer not being decided. The Secretary of Delhi Municipal Corporation issued a notice saying that nomination of the Presiding Officer is necessary under Section 77(a) of the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, 1957. Therefore, election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor is not possible today.
