The Supreme Court will hear Manish Sisodia's Special Leave Petitions challenging the denial of bail in corruption and money laundering cases linked to the excise policy scam.

A Delhi court on Thursday extended the judicial custody of AAP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia until 6 July.

A bench of Delhi HC had reserved the decision on May 14 after hearing the arguments from both the parties.

Manish Sisodia was presented in Rouse Avenue Court today through video conferencing in the money laundering case related to Delhi liquor scam case.

The CBI filed an FIR against 15 persons in August 2022 for alleged violations of rules and procedural anomalies in the new liquor policy.

During the last hearing, Manish Sisodia's lawyer said that the lower court has given custody parole to Sisodia for one day a week to meet his ailing wife.

While denying the bail plea in the CBI and ED case the court stated that Manish Sisodia, the petitioner, and the other accused have been submitting applications and making oral requests to the court one after the other of which many were submitted needlessly.

The court reiterated that the case was still in the document verification stage, with the trial yet to commence, echoing the Supreme Court's decision on October 30, 2023, to deny bail.

CBI said that if Sisodia gets bail he can influence the witnesses as he is the kingpin of the scam.
