In a sharp critique of the Mamata Banerjee-led government, BJP National President J P Nadda denounced a disturbing video emerging from West Bengal depicting a man mercilessly beating a woman on a public street while bystanders looked on.
Nadda expressed deep concern over the safety of women in the state, citing the incident as indicative of growing lawlessness.
In a social media post on X platform, Nadda described the video as reminiscent of brutalities seen in theocracies, further criticizing the Trinamool Congress (TMC) cadre and legislators for allegedly justifying the assault.
He highlighted multiple instances across West Bengal, including Sandeshkhali and Uttar Dinajpur, branding the region as perilous for women under the administration of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

The shocking footage, originating from Chopra block in North Dinajpur district, captured a man identified as Tejemul, known locally as “JCB,” delivering what he termed as “instant justice” during a Kangaroo Court session.
Reports indicate that Tejemul, affiliated with the Trinamool Congress, summoned the victim over allegations of extramarital relations.
Earlier comments from BJP’s IT cell chief Amit Malviya implicated Tejemul as closely associated with Chopra’s TMC legislator, Hamidul Rahman, adding fuel to the fire of political accusations amidst the outcry over deteriorating law and order in West Bengal.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage and renewed discussions on the safety and security of women in the state, prompting calls for stringent action against the perpetrators and a reevaluation of governance under Mamata Banerjee’s tenure.
