An official reported on Wednesday that the headmaster of a government primary school in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, had been suspended for allegedly engaging in obscene activities in front of students in drunken state.
According to a reported film, Durga Prasad Jaiswal, a teacher at Shivpur Bairagi Primary School in Visheshwarganj block, was captured intoxicated and naked napping in class—much to the kids’ disgust.
The legitimacy of the video that went viral, according to the officials, has to be determined yet.
Parents who were outraged stated that Durga Jaiswal frequently engaged in inappropriate behaviour in front of students. They claimed that the headmaster naps and removes his clothing during class.
The girl students, they claimed, have stopped attending school because of his embarrassing activities.
Following the block education officer’s investigation into the complaint, Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) ordered Durga Jaiswal’s suspension.
“We got a complaint against Durga Prasad Jaiswal, primary school teacher and headmaster in Shivpur Bairagi Basik School of Visheshwarganj block, that he comes to school in an inebriated state. A video of the same also surfaced recently. However, the video is yet to be verified. He was suspended on July 24 on the basis of a preliminary inquiry conducted by the block education officer,” BSA Avyakt Ram Tiwari said.
“A departmental inquiry is being conducted. If necessary, an FIR will also be lodged against the headmaster,” the BSA said.
