Prime Minister Narendra Modi voiced his delight over the International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra, describing the experience as deeply enriching.
Speaking during the 128th edition of Mann Ki Baat, he recalled the Mahabharata Anubhav Kendra.
The centre offers a gripping, multi-sensory encounter that brings the epic to life through advanced technology.
He said his Kurukshetra visit on November 25 left him “immensely joyful.” He added that the centre uses integrated 3D light-and-sound shows and digital projection systems to create a vivid, immersive environment.
According to the Prime Minister, the facility lets visitors, especially the youth, witness the Mahabharata in a dynamic, contemporary format. It strengthens their connection with India’s civilisational heritage.
PM Modi highlighted that experiencing the Gita Mahotsav at the sacred Brahma Sarovar felt ‘particularly special’.
He said the scale of participation and cultural diversity underlie the scripture’s growing global influence.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the Gita was publicly recited for the first time in Saudi Arabia earlier this month, calling it a notable development.
He also referenced a memorable Gita Mahotsav in Latvia, where artists from Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Algeria took part enthusiastically.
He emphasised that the Gita continues to inspire people worldwide, reaffirming its place as a universal guide to clarity, courage and balanced action.
Meanwhile, Vice President CP Radhakrishnan addressed the Akhil Bhartiya Devsthanam Sammelan, held alongside the ongoing Mahotsav.
He described the Bhagavad Gita as a timeless framework for righteous conduct and constructive decision-making, especially in an era shaped by rapid technological shifts.
Vice President CP Radhakrishnan said the Gita Mahotsav reinforces Bharat’s enduring values, dharma, duty, discipline and inner excellence.
The Vice President added that these principles also form the philosophical base of the Prime Minister’s vision of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat.
The celebrations, he noted, offer an accessible path for people to revisit and internalise the Gita’s teachings in meaningful ways.
