Delhi Man Steals Oil From Indian Oil Pipeline Worth Lakhs, Continued The Theft Since June

Indian Oil was taken aback when it learned that someone had stolen oil worth thousands of dollars from its pipelines in Pochanpur village in Dwarka. According to police, the accused, who was detained, had dug a 40-meter tunnel through which he had been stealing oil since June. The quantity of oil stolen has not yet been confirmed by the company.

According to M Harsha Vardhan, the deputy commissioner of police for Dwarka, several tools used in the theft have been recovered. The IOCL official suspected oil theft in the area and alerted the police; as a result, both parties increased technical surveillance.

The accused, according to Delhi Police, was continuously stealing oil from the 2 m-underground IOCL pipeline. Near the underground pipeline that opened onto a nearby plot, the accused allegedly dug up a tunnel measuring 40 to 45 metres through which he directed another pipe to steal the oil.

Later it was found that it was the owner of the plot who had been stealing the oil, according to police.
