Cow Vigilante Monu Manesar Sent To 14 days Judicial Custody

In an attempt to murder case alleged cow vigilante and Bajrang Dal activist, Monu Manesar was sent to a judicial custody of 14 days by a Pataudi court on Wednesday.

Following the conclusion of his four-day police remand on Wednesday, he was presented in court.

Mohit Yadav alias Monu Manesar, was placed in judicial custody and lodged in Bhondsi jail by the Chief Judicial Magistrate Tarannum Khan’s court.

“Monu Manesar was produced in the court today and sent to judicial custody while further probe is underway,” Pataudi Assistant Commissioner of Police Harinder Singh said.

The Gurugram Police received a four-day production warrant earlier on October 7. He was taken to Kanpur in order to retrieve the weapon used in the attempted murder case against him that was filed on February 7 of this year at the Pataudi police station.

Police claim that Manesar and his group were present during a fight between two groups on February 6 in Pataudi’s Baba Shah Mohalla. A complaint was made by Mubin Khan, a local who claimed his son was shot at while there was gunfire between two groups.

Following the complaint, an FIR was filed at the Pataudi police station against Manesar under section 307 (attempt to murder).

Manesar was detained in relation to the kidnapping and murder of Nasir and Junaid, whose burned bodies were discovered in a car on the border between Rajasthan and Haryana on February 16. The two men were allegedly abducted by vigilantes who suspected them of cow smuggling.
