Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath unveiled projects worth Rs 237.38 crore during his visit to Prayagraj to review preparations for Maha Kumbh 2025.
The projects aim to ensure a secure and clean event for millions of pilgrims.
Key initiatives include advanced sanitation equipment such as tippers and compactors worth Rs 50 crore, a newly inaugurated municipal control room, and tools for fire services, water police, and traffic management, collectively valued at Rs 173 crore.
To support sanitation workers, the Chief Minister distributed uniform kits to around 20,000 Swachhagrahis (cleanliness volunteers) and Safai Mitras. Life jackets were also provided to sailors, enhancing safety measures.
Over 15,000 workers were linked to government schemes under the ‘Swachh Kumbh Kosh’, with insurance certificates issued to ensure financial security.
In an innovative step, CM Yogi participated in the signing of an MoU between the Mela Authority and Google.
For the first time, Google Maps will integrate the Maha Kumbh’s temporary city, allowing visitors to navigate to key religious sites, ghats, and akhadas with ease.
The Chief Minister also inspected key development projects, including the Ganga Riverfront, dredging operations, and pontoon bridge construction.
At Sangam Nose, the proposed site for the Prime Minister’s event, he issued directives for seamless arrangements.
CM Yogi reiterated his government’s commitment to presenting Maha Kumbh 2025 as a model of cleanliness, safety, and effective planning.
