Ola, India's prominent ride-hailing company, has transitioned from Google Maps to its proprietary mapping platform, Ola Maps.

Local residents, fed up with lost travelers requesting directions after being mislead by Google Maps ended up putting the signboard.

After traveling 37 miles on the deserted track, their car stuck in the mud. They had to leave their car and hike for more than a week to get to safety because they had no cell service and few supplies.

The group's car was unexpectedly steered off the main route and into Nevada's arid desert by Google Maps.
