Hemant Soren, leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), will be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand for the fourth time today.

The ceremony, to held at Ranchi’s Morabadi Ground, will likely highlight the unity of the opposition INDIA bloc, with several prominent leaders from across the alliance attending.

Prominent Leaders To Attend Hemant Soren’s Swearing-in Ceremony

The official guest list features prominent leaders, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi, NCP-SP chief Sharad Pawar, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, CPI-ML General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, Shiv Sena-UBT’s Uddhav Thackeray, former J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti, Tamil Nadu Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin, Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar, Bihar Opposition Leader Tejashwi Yadav, ex-Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, Bihar MP Pappu Yadav, and AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, who leads the National People’s Party allied with the NDA, is likely to attend in a rare gesture of political outreach.

Soren personally invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his recent visit to New Delhi.

Alongside Soren, one minister each from the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is likely to take the oath.

The Morabadi Ground, which hosted Soren’s last swearing-in ceremony in 2019, organizers have extensively decorated, and they expect around 50,000 attendees to join the event.

To ensure smooth proceedings, Jharkhand Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari reviewed the preparations earlier this week.

In the lead-up to the ceremony, Soren visited his ancestral village Nemra in Ramgarh district on Wednesday with his wife, Kalpana Soren, to honor the memory of his grandfather Sobaran Soren on his martyrdom day.

At Lukaiyatand, where Sobaran Soren’s statue is located, the Chief Minister paid homage and addressed the public, reflecting on the sacrifices of Jharkhand’s people in their fight against exploitation.
