The court has initiated action independently without waiting for a formal complaint. Hence this can be termed as a case of suo motu cognizance. Generally this can be initiated in cases of urgency, public interest, or human rights violations. Death toll at Nanded’s Dr. Shankarrao Chavan Government Medical College and Hospital risen to 35. This includes  loss of  lives of 16 infants and 19 adults. Whereas, death toll at Government Medical College and Hospital in Sambhaji Nagar has risen to 14 that includes two infants.

With the court intervening into the matter, people’s lost faith in the judiciary is likely to be restored.
