PIB Debunks Fake Claim About CJI Ordering CBI Probe Against Government

The Press Information Bureau’s (PIB) official Fact Check unit has refuted a misleading video posted by the YouTube channel ‘VishalYadavNews’, which falsely claims that the Chief Justice of India (CJI) has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to initiate a probe against the Government.

The video, which gained rapid traction across social media platforms, suggested that India’s top judicial authority had taken action against the Government, an allegation that has now been categorically denied.

In a clear response, PIB Fact Check issued a public advisory stating, “YouTube channel ‘VishalYadavNews’, in a video, has claimed that the Chief Justice of India (CJI) has directed the CBI to act against the Government #PIBFactCheck. This claim is fake! The CJI has not ordered any CBI probe against the Government. Do not fall for misinformation. Always cross-check with official sources before sharing or believing any such content.”

This clarification was made in response to the false information circulated through unofficial digital channels and urges citizens to verify any such content before believing or sharing it.

Misinformation in the Digital Age

Instances of fake news and doctored claims have become increasingly common across online platforms.

With widespread access to social media and video content, misleading narratives can be easily amplified if not promptly addressed.

Government agencies such as the PIB regularly track such false reports and issue fact checks to maintain the integrity of public discourse.

In this case, the viral video not only misrepresented the actions of the judiciary but also attempted to erode trust in constitutional institutions.

The PIB has once again reminded users to refrain from forwarding or engaging with content that lacks authentication.

“Do not fall for misinformation. Always cross-check with official sources before sharing or believing any such content,” the advisory stated.

YouTube viewers and social media users are urged to report misleading content and follow only verified government channels or official press releases for legitimate updates.

With increasing reliance on digital news and short-form video content, media literacy remains crucial.

Authorities encourage citizens to develop a habit of verifying sensational claims, especially those involving high-ranking officials or government institutions.

Falsehoods not only mislead the public but can also contribute to unwarranted panic and misunderstanding.

The PIB’s swift response highlights the importance of fact-checking in the digital age and underscores the collective responsibility of the public to reject misinformation and uphold the truth.
