Tributes Paid To Late Rajesh Rai In Ghazipur’s Sherpur Kala

Residents of Sherpur Kala village in Mohammadabad, Ghazipur, held a condolence ceremony on Thursday to pay tribute to the late social worker Rajesh Rai, elder brother of Bharat Express CMD and Editor-in-Chief Upendrra Rai.

Prominent personalities, including BJP spokesperson Prem Shukla and Acharya Pawan Tripathi, Treasurer of the Mumbai Siddhivinayak Temple Trust, offered floral tributes on the occasion.

The thirteenth-day ritual (terahvi) of late Rajesh Rai witnessed the presence of several political figures, journalists, and authors who expressed condolences to the bereaved family.

BJP leader Prem Shukla described Rai as ‘a noble soul dedicated to public service’, while Acharya Pawan Tripathi remembered him as ‘a man whose humility and generosity earned him immense respect’.

Bharat Express CMD Upendrra Rai, CEO Varun Kohli, and other senior officials of the media group were also in attendance.

Many residents and senior community members from Sherpur Kala paid homage to the late social worker. Their presence reflected the deep respect they held for him.

Remembering a Life of Service

Rajesh Rai was a native of Sherpur Kala village under Mohammadabad tehsil in Ghazipur. Rai dedicated many years to social and community service.

He was known for his simplicity and compassion. He worked tirelessly to uplift the underprivileged and foster unity within his community.

His association with the Sahara India family and various social initiatives earned him recognition and respect across the region. Friends and colleagues recall that he approached every task with sincerity and maintained strong ties with his native village throughout his life.

Senior journalists, social workers, and public representatives from across India expressed deep sorrow over his untimely demise. They praised his lifelong dedication to public welfare and humanitarian causes.

Villagers gathered to offer prayers in his memory. The atmosphere filled with emotion, remembrance, and gratitude for a man whose life embodied service and simplicity.
