Fitness Coach Raj Ganpath Reveals Simple Way To Meet Daily Protein Goals Without Stress

Fitness coach Raj Ganpath, co-founder of The Quad and a fitness expert with 18 years of experience, has shared a simple yet effective method to meet daily protein needs, without obsessing over every gram.

In an Instagram post, Ganpath said that the growing fixation with protein has gone ‘a little out of hand’ and that people can easily meet their requirements by making one simple dietary change.

“The obsession around protein is getting a little out of hand, but there’s a very simple way for you to get the protein you need without obsessing about it,” he said. “You just need to understand one simple concept and make one change.”

Simplifying the Protein Fixation

Ganpath explained that many Indians tend to eat meals dominated by starchy foods like rice, roti, dosas, and idlis, which are filling but low in protein. The only adjustment needed, he said, is to reduce starch and replace it with protein-rich foods.

“As an Indian, you tend to eat a lot of starchy foods and not enough protein-rich foods. The only change you need to make is to cut down on starchy items and replace them with protein,” he added.

According to Ganpath, the idea is not to overhaul one’s diet but to make simple substitutions that add nutritional balance. He listed sources such as eggs, paneer, cheese, tempeh, milk, curd, and even protein supplements as effective ways to meet daily protein goals.

Ganpath shared a sample plan to illustrate how this approach can work in everyday meals:

Breakfast: If you usually have four idlis with chutney, make it two and add a couple of eggs or a protein shake.

Lunch: Cut one cup of rice from your usual two-cup portion and include chicken, paneer, or a protein supplement.

Dinner: Instead of four rotis, have two with sabzi and add tofu, tempeh, or meat for added protein.

Ganpath emphasised that the goal is not perfection but sustainability. By making small, consistent changes, individuals can achieve adequate protein intake while still enjoying traditional Indian meals.

The message, he said, is simple: “Eat a little less starch and a little more protein.” This balanced approach supports muscle growth, better metabolism, and overall well-being without the stress of strict calorie counting.
