There are about a dozen countries whose presidents, vice presidents, prime ministers, foreign ministers, etc. are of Indian origin
About two crore people of Indian origin are currently spread abroad. There are about a dozen countries whose presidents, vice presidents, prime ministers, foreign ministers, etc. are of Indian origin.
After British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, Ireland’s PM, Leo Varadkar is the latest example of this. Wherever Indian people have settled, they have reached the highest places in every field of that country.
At present, United States is the world’s biggest superpower and super-rich country. At present, there are 50 lakh people of Indian origin in America. Indian people have not settled in any country in the world in such large numbers.
Due to this, there has definitely been a brain-drain from India, but these Indian-origin citizens of America are the most prosperous, well-educated, and happy people, it has been proved by many surveys.
If Indians had started settling in America 200 years ago, perhaps America would have become an India-like country like Mauritius, Suriname, etc. In fact, the immigration of Indians started only in 1965 but at present, it is the second country after Mexico, whose maximum number of people go and settle in America. Mexico is a neighboring country of America. But India is thousands of kilometers away from the US.
Immigrants from India are mostly enthusiastic youth. Those who go there to study either stay there or else many well-educated people from here go to America in search of better jobs. Along with them their parents also try to settle there. Despite this, the average age of Indian immigrants is 41 years, compared to 47 years for immigrants from other countries.
80 percent of the total immigrants in India are employed. While only 15 percent of other foreign immigrants are well-educated, more than 50 percent of Indians are educated up to the graduate level. The average per capita income of people of Indian origin is $150,000 per year, which is less than half that of the average Americans and other immigrants i.e. only $70,000.
Today Indian people are seen in every state and city of America. Every major city and state there is now crowded with Indian restaurants. Universities are full of Indian students and teachers.
The heads of many American companies and government departments are people of Indian origin. Like Britain, the governance of America should also be in the hands of a person of Indian origin.
