CCTVs To Be Installed In Every Corners Of Uttar Pradesh Cities

In a bid to ensure safety in the cities of Uttar Pradesh about 22000 CCTV cameras to be installed in each corners. The objective is to keep a close watch on the cities of the largest state of India. For the first phase 21968 places have been identified where the cameras are to be installed. The state home department is carrying out this particular assignment.

This 21968 places will consist of 17 municipal corporation areas and Gautam Budh Nagar. In addition 4150 hotspots have been identified where the installation of the cameras are in the pipeline. Patrolling has been started in  1,861 hot spots by 656 PRVs.  A total of 2,324 dark spots have also been identified, of which streetlights have been installed at 1,416 spots.

It is a dream project for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath who vowed to make the state a safe paradise. He held review meeting with the home department to assess the progress of the safe city project.

Safe City project is progressing rapidly in line with the CM’s vision and most of the projects are completed within the stipulated deadline.

UP Police has identified the highest number of 3,139 CCTV cameras in Gautam Buddh Nagar, followed by Kanpur with 3,019 cameras, Meerut with 2,120, Ghaziabad with 1,464, and Lucknow with 1,461 cameras.
