Indian Air Force
The Indian Air Force day was celebrated in the nation with much fanfare. It is on this day that the organisation was established in the year 1932. Initially the organisation was established with six Hawker Hart biplanes. In the initial days Indian Air Force was known as Royal Indian Air Force (RIAF) and was part of the British Royal Air Force.

Royal Indian Air Force played an active role in the second World War, supporting British forces in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Indian Air Force has played important roles in every wars the nation fought. It has undertaken many air strikes, moved the Indian diaspora to safety from the conflict zone. The organisation has also provided relief through Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster relief (HADR) missions within and beyond the Indian Geographical boundaries.
IAF has a rich history of regular and successful engagements in international air exercises with friendly countries.

President Droupadi Murmu, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankar , Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief of defence staff, General Anil Chauhan took on their respective twitter handle to congratulate each and every members of the organisation.
The IAF has encouraged capability development through indigenous defence production under “Aatmanirbhar Bharat”.
