PM Modi also shared a YouTube link to a bhajan dedicated to Goddess Durga, titled Chottanikkara Baghavathi. He further posted a Sanskrit verse praising the Goddess as Vaishnavi Shakti, the embodiment of infinite valour and supreme cosmic power.
The verse describes the Goddess as the seed of the universe, whose divine will governs creation and whose grace illuminates the path to liberation for all beings.
Shardiya Navratri began on October 11, and devotees across the country are observing the festival with prayers, fasting, temple visits and traditional rituals. The nine-day Hindu festival honours Goddess Durga, with each day dedicated to one of her nine manifestations.
Devotees worship Maa Chandraghanta on the third day, seeking courage, strength, peace and protection from negative forces.
The festival will conclude with Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra, which symbolises the victory of good over evil.
