The Allahabad High Court has taken strict action against institutions issuing fake documents to couples seeking protection orders. Justice Vinod Diwakar ordered Senior Superintendents and Superintendents of Police in districts like Firozabad, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Bulandshahr, and Muzaffarnagar to investigate these cases. The court asked them to take legal action against individuals or institutions involved in forging these documents. Police must submit a detailed report at the next hearing.
Forgery in Documents Widespread
Additional Chief Standing Counsel Ashwani Kumar Tripathi and State Law Officer OP Singh revealed that many petitions relied on false marriage certificates, Aadhaar cards, and identity records. Some cases involved underage girls, between 12 and 14 years old, with fake age and identity documents. The court noted that an organized network of brokers, agents, and religious trust representatives was supplying these fake certificates, often under police protection.

The court pointed out the harmful effects of such practices, stating that these fake marriages lead to human trafficking, forced labor, and emotional trauma for children. It also emphasized the strain this places on the judicial system. The court urged authorities to create a strong verification system to ensure accountability of trusts and societies, aiming to prevent future misuse.
