Is Your Body Trying To Tell You Something? Discover How To Listen

True success is not just professional but also your personal health and a combination of both leads to a better life for oneself and for those around us.

Being healthy is natural state of our body. If we listen closely we will always be at ease or in the absence of any disease.

It is important to be connected to our body, much more than being connected to the wi-fi on any smart device. So log on to what really matters. Our natural bodily systems are smarter than any smart device.

Your body is always tuned in with you and has its own language to send you messages

It could be something simple like bad breath or chapped lips—a vague indicator—or something that gradually intensifies like memory loss or sudden weight gain or loss.

Our body is our guardian, always protecting our mental, physical and emotional well-being

When we are not in tune with our body or don’t listen to it or lovingly nourish it with good food, healthy sleep and a pro life lifestyle, then some of these signs if continuously ignored could gradually lead to something bigger.

Even when ignored, our body tries hard and comes up with its own defence mechanism when it can’t deal with the situation. It could be an inexplicable symptom which might affect a person at a physical level, while the body constantly might have been fighting a battle at a mental level for maybe even years, before showing up as something noticeably tangible or vice versa or a combination of things.

Learning the body’s smart language and finding solutions

Sometimes these signs could be commonplace and could have a simple solution, straight out of your kitchen or your home medicine kit.

In some cases, the body might be hinting at something serious that might need professional attention.

Here are a few things to be mindful about:

Burning sensation

A burning sensation in the hands or legs may be experienced while standing in the same position for too long. This happens due to hindered blood circulation and usually goes away with movement.

But, if it’s happening constantly then that’s a sign that you have to sit or stand in a better posture. Lower levels of Vitamin B12 can also cause a burning sensation in your feet or tongue.

If these sensations become a regular affair getting a health professional to check it would be a good idea.

Itchy Skin

Insect bites aren’t the only cause of itchy skin without a rash. It could be allergies too.

The skin can react to substances like plants, fragrances, latex, or it could even be a sign of some other condition, even something as serious as diabetes.

Hot flashes

Ever felt a sudden rush of heat in your neck or face? It could last from a few seconds to a few minutes. Hot flashes typically happen due to an increased heart rate, which can be caused by stress, anxiety or various other factors.

It also happens to women in their perimenopause stage. It could also be an indicator of the body’s hormonal health that might need attention, maybe even from a health professional.

Cold flashes

Sudden shivering and feeling cold can also affect the entire body. It’s often caused by hormonal or emotional changes and might  also be related to menopause in some cases.

Stress and anxiety can also play a role here too and make the body cold, in the middle of the month of May.

Some ways in which our body indicates deficiency of vitamins & minerals:

Bleeding gums

This generally occurs due to a deficiency of Vitamin C.

Increasing intake of oranges, lemons, or other citrus fruits, as well as cruciferous vegetables like cabbage, can help with this deficiency.

Ofcourse, if it’s not the deficiency it could also be that you need a visit to the dentist.

Brittle nails

There are many causes of brittle nails, but the most common is a lack of Biotin, also known as Vitamin B7.

Bananas, nuts and seeds can help with this deficiency.

Restless leg syndrome

This common condition, where there’s an irresistible urge to shake your legs, often happens due to nervousness.

It can also be caused by an iron deficiency. Increasing intake of iron-rich foods like leafy greens and whole grains can help resolve this condition.

Listening to your body within, is the way out to anything

Whether it is sleeplessness, sudden hair loss, or anything that you are suddenly experiencing or have been for a while, then that’s your body communicating with you.

There is something going on within, that you have to resolve or pay attention to or change something without, i.e. outside maybe, in your lifestyle.

The hustle culture has left everyone exhausted.

Know when to take a break

As a society we shouldn’t applaud showing up at work in sickness as a sign of commitment.

Sleeping early needs to become the new normal.

Netflix and chill might seem cool. But doing it as a daily habit could land you up with a daily pill instead.

Those eight hours of healthy sleep is how you make dreams come true.

Our health capital and financial capital are directly correlated.

Sleeping early is not just for when you are in your forties, but also in your twenties when you think sleeping early is boring.

Sleeping early when you are in your twenties holds you in good stead and yields great results in your later years in all spheres of life. It keeps both our financial and health capital secure and fit

Hence, having a good and positive affect on our mental health

Work hard, follow your dreams, but don’t forget to relax when your body or mind needs it

“Aaram and Vishram” i.e. rest and restoration are as important as “Kaam, Vyayam and Parishram” i.e. work, work out and hard work.

Lack of rest and restoration can  lead to quick burn outs. So it’s up to us to choose our battles and our milestones.

True success is not just professional but also your personal health and a combination of both leads to a better life for oneself and for those around us.

Keeping this in mind, the new normal should be potato and green beans over coffee beans.

Home cooked food  as the primary choice instead of  outside food.

Saying no to processed food and for that matter processed people.

Keeping both at bay, will be good for our physical as well as emotional and mental well being.

Making water your favourite beverage anyday, everyday and all day long just keep hydrating.

Now that should be a trend!

Exercising outdoors and spending time in your local gardens can be a good source of Vitamin D, especially in the morning as well as be a source of oxytocin, ‘the love hormone’ and serotonin, that makes one more productive in keeping the body functional with consistency. The latter also keeps depression and mood swings at bay.

Breathe in fresh air, breath out carbon footprint.

Keep it realistic:

A full-body health check-up once a year is essential.

Sometimes some deficiencies and issues can just be resolved with a well-rounded, whole-food diet and healthy lifestyle.

Eat local, seasonal, fresh and traditional and live that way as much as possible.

Make nature your friend as much as is possible in your given  individual setup.

Reach out to a medical health professional without delay if you feel any discomfort.

Your body works hard for you even when you ignore it.

Listen to it, sleep early tonight and enjoy the thrill of getting up fresh early in the morning.
