Yogi Government Enhances Security For Maha Kumbh With High-Tech Measures

The Yogi government is introducing advanced security measures for the Maha Kumbh, scheduled for January 2025 at Triveni. For the first time, the event will feature underwater drones and sonar technology for enhanced safety. Kumbh Mela Officer Vijay Kiran Anand emphasized that the safety of devotees is the administration’s top priority. New underwater safety arrangements will include an eight-kilometer deep-water barricade along the ghats.

The security of both surface and underwater areas has been entrusted to the PAC and Water Police. DIG Eastern Zone PAC Rajiv Narayan Mishra announced the deployment of underwater drones for real-time surveillance and sonar technology to assess the underwater conditions during emergencies.

Water Scooter Brigade for Quick Response

A water scooter brigade will also be introduced to provide rapid response in aquatic areas. This brigade will consist of 25 water scooters, ensuring immediate assistance in case of emergencies. The government has approved a budget of ₹6.25 lakh for this initiative. Additionally, two floating rescue stations will be established at Sangam and VIP Ghat, equipped with first aid and emergency supplies.
