Tehran Warns Israel Again, Says “Our Next Response Will Be At Maximum Level”

The strike looked to be aimed at an Iranian Air Force base near the city of Isfahan, deep within the country, but it did not hit any strategic sites or do major damage

Iran’s foreign minister said on Friday that Tehran was examining an overnight attack on Iran, but a link to Israel had yet to be confirmed.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian stated that the drones took off from within Iran and flew for a few hundred metres before coming down.

Amirabdollahian went on to say, “They’re … more like toys that our children play with, not drones”.

“It has not been proved to us that there is a connection between these and Israel”, Amirabdollahian continued, adding that Tehran was looking into the matter but that media reports were inaccurate.

Iranian media and officials reported a small number of explosions caused by air defenses hitting three drones above Isfahan, central Iran, in the early hours of Friday. They described the incident as an attack by infiltrators, rather than by Israel, eliminating the necessity for retaliation.

Amirabdollahian warned that if Israel attacked against Iran’s interests, Tehran’s next response would be immediate and at the maximum level.

“If Israel wants to do another adventurism and acts against the interests of Iran, our next response will be immediate and will be at the maximum level”, Amirabdollahian added.

The strike looked to be aimed at an Iranian Air Force base near the city of Isfahan, deep within the country, but it did not hit any strategic sites or do major damage.

Israel has stated nothing about the incident.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that the United States had not been involved in any offensive activities, but the White House declined to comment.
