In recent course of events, posters of Indian diplomats were being circulated in Canada. The posters connected the death of Khalistani Leader, Nijjar Singh to the Indian diplomats calling them “Killer in Toronto”. The posters were being circulated as a threat to the Indian diplomats. Now, reaction has come from the External Affairs Minister Of India, S. Jaishankar. He has given a straight away warning to Canadian administrations against space given to Pro-Khalistani elements. He claimed that the Indian government had contacted allies like Canada and the UK and asked them to stop supporting Khalistani organisations. He forewarned that this would have an impact on the nations’ ties.
It is not good for our relations, warns Jaishankar
The external affairs minister said, “We have requested our partner countries like Canada, US, UK and Australia, where sometimes Khalistani activities happen, not to give space to the Khalistanis. Because they’re (Khalistanis) radical, extremist thinking is neither good for us nor them nor our relations,” the external affairs minister said, talking to reporters on the sidelines of a BJP outreach campaign.

“We are already in touch with our partner countries like Canada. We have requested them not to give space to Khalistani groups. This poster, I believe, was issued a day back, and it has already been taken up with the country concerned through proper channels,” Jaishankar said.

Threat posters in Canada
India’s ambassador to Canada, High Commissioner Sanjay Verma, and the Indian Consul General in Toronto, Apoorva Srivastava, were featured on a pro-Khalistan poster that claimed India was to blame for the murder of Khalistani Hardeep Nijjar.
Nijjar, the leader of the Khalistan Tiger Force and one of the most wanted terrorists in India, was shot dead on June 18 in Surrey, Canada, in the parking lot of the Guru Nanak Gurdwara Sahib. Some Khalistani factions began blaming India for the murder.
