An Israeli military official rejected on Thursday that there is a humanitarian crisis in Gaza while admitting that the Palestinian territory suffers a number of obstacles as a result of the prolonged war.
“We know the civil situation in the Gaza Strip is not an easy one”, said Colonel Moshe Tetro, head of coordination and liaison at COGAT, the Israeli defence ministry organization in charge of civil affairs in Gaza.
“But I can say that there is no humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip”, Colonel Moshe Tetro continued.
Tetro stated that the Israeli military was assisting in the supply of aid to Gaza in areas such as water, food, medical supplies, and humanitarian aid for shelters.
Tetro’s words came on the same day that French President Emmanuel Macron began a symposium on Gaza aid in Paris.
Macron encouraged the international community to work towards a ceasefire and called for a humanitarian pause in the Palestinian land.
