Former Iranian Official Hints At Possible Assassination Attempt On President Trump

Mohammad-Javad Larijani, a former senior advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has hinted at a potential assassination attempt on US President Donald Trump.

During a televised interview in Iran, Larijani implied that President Trump could become the target of a drone strike while relaxing at his Florida estate.

“Trump has done something so that he can no longer sunbathe in Mar-a-Lago,” Larijani said. “As he lies there with his stomach to the sun, a small drone might hit him in the navel. It’s very simple.”

Iranian opposition outlet Iran International quoted Larijani, whose remarks quickly circulated across social media platforms.

Tensions rise following the US-Iran-Israel conflict

The veiled threat follows a ceasefire that President Trump recently declared between Iran and Israel after a 12-day escalation.

The conflict erupted on June 13 when Israel launched “Operation Rising Lion,” targeting Iranian military and nuclear sites.

In response, Iran fired missiles at Israeli cities and later struck US military bases in Qatar and Iraq.

These retaliatory attacks followed US strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.

President Trump laughs off threats in media interview

Trump dismissed the threat with humour during an interview with Fox News.

When asked about the comment, he joked, “It’s been a long time. I don’t know, maybe I was around seven or so. I’m not too big into it,” referring to sunbathing.

“I guess it’s a threat. I’m sure it’s not a threat, actually, but perhaps it is,” he added, appearing unshaken.

Adding to the hostile rhetoric, Iran’s senior Shia cleric Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi issued a fatwa against President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, labelling them “enemies of God.”

“Any person or regime that threatens the Leader or Marja (May God forbid) is considered an enemy of God,” Shirazi declared in the religious decree.
He also stated that any cooperation with such enemies by Muslims or Islamic states is “haram” (forbidden) and called on Muslims worldwide to make these enemies “regret their words and mistakes.”

President Trump claims he saved Khamenei’s life

In an earlier post on his social media platform, President Trump claimed that he had “saved Khamenei from a very ugly and ignominious death” and accused the Iranian leader of falsely claiming victory over Israel.

This accusation reportedly triggered Shirazi’s fatwa and contributed to the escalating rhetoric between both sides.
