Rupert Murdoch
Rupert Murdoch, an Australian-born media mogul, is engaged to former San Francisco police chaplain Ann Lesley Smith for the fifth time at the age of 92.
Rupert Murdoch stated to the media, “I was extremely nervous. I was terrified of falling in love, but I knew it would be my last. It had better be. I’m happy”.
His future wife was previously married to Chester Smith, a country-western singer and radio and television executive who died in 2008.
The two became friends because they both worked in the media industry.
Ms. Smith stated to the media, “It’s a gift from God for both of us. We first met in September of last year”.
She went on to say, “I’ve been a widow for 14 years. My husband, like Rupert, was a businessman. Worked for local newspapers, created radio and television stations, and promoted Univision. So I’m fluent in Rupert’s language. We hold similar beliefs”.
The couple intends to marry in the summer. “We’re both excited to spend the next half of our lives together”, Murdoch said.
They will divide their time between California, the United Kingdom, Montana, and New York.
From his first three marriages, Murdoch has six children. For six years, he was married to Ms. Hall. From 1999 to 2013, he was married to Wendi Deng; from 1967 to 1999, he was married to Anna Maria Torv; and from 1956 to 1967, he was married to Patricia Booker.
