On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decried a volcano of anti-Semitism and international criticism of Israel’s attack in Gaza, emphasizing that no pressure would prevent Israel from defending itself.
“If Israel is forced to stand alone, Israel will stand alone”, the Israeli Prime Minister noted.
Speaking at a Holocaust Remembrance Day ceremony at Jerusalem’s Yad Vashem memorial, he bemoaned that when the Nazis massacred six million Jews during World War II, his people were completely defenseless against those who sought our destruction.
“No nation came to our aid”, Netanyahu remarked as the Israeli flag flew at half-mast and Holocaust survivors prepared to burn candles.
“Today, we again confront enemies bent on our destruction”, Netanyahu addressed the massive throng gathered for the occasion.
One yellow chair remained empty representing the hostages still held captive by Hamas in Gaza.
Netanyahu went on to say, “I say to the leaders of the world, no amount of pressure, no decision by any international forum, will stop Israel from defending itself.”
He bemoaned the global outcry against Israel for its war in Gaza, which erupted following Hamas’ unprecedented October 7 attack. And he condemned this terrible volcano of anti-Semitism that he claimed was erupting over the world.
Netanyahu also linked the protests at campuses in the United States and around the world to the discrimination against Jews at German universities during World War II.
“What a distortion of justice and history”, the Israeli Prime Minister continued
The criticism, Netanyahu claimed, was not due to the actions that we do, but because we exist… because we are Jews.
“You will not chain our hands… Israel will continue to fight human evil… until victory”, the Israeli prime minister stated.
The Israeli prime minister added, “We will defeat our genocidal enemies. Never again is now!”
Gaza’s worst war began after Hamas launched an offensive on Israel, killing more than 1,170 people, most of whom were civilians.
During the attack, Hamas also seized approximately 250 captives.
Israel estimates that 128 are still being kept captive in Gaza, 35 of whom the army claims are dead.
Israel’s retaliatory offensive in Gaza, which vowed to eliminate Hamas, has killed at least 34,683 individuals.
