The Palestinian health ministry and Red Crescent reported that six Palestinian males were killed during an Israeli army operation in the northern occupied West Bank village of Kfar Dan Tuesday.

The Israeli military claimed it carried out a counterterror activity in the region, killing four militants.

In a statement, the Palestinian health ministry in Ramallah stated, “The men aged between 21 and 32 were shot by the occupation forces in the town of Kafr Dan, Jenin district”.

According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, six persons were killed in Kafr Dan, at least three of them from a targeted house.

The Israeli army went on to say, “Troops encircled a structure used by Palestinian militants, killing four during exchanges of fire and injuring additional ones, while an Israeli air force helicopter struck the area of the structure”.

“The soldiers had found weapons and a vehicle containing numerous explosives”, the statement reads.

The West Bank, which Israel has governed since 1967, has experienced a surge in violence for over a year, particularly since the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza began on October 7.

Israeli troops or settlers have killed at least 542 Palestinians in the West Bank since the Gaza war broke out.

Palestinian attacks in the West Bank have killed at least 14 Israelis over the same period.
