Israel Vows Strong Retaliation After Iran’s Night Of Missile Strikes

Following a series of missile strikes from Iran on Tuesday night, Israel has firmly committed to retaliatory actions.

The attacks, which involved over 200 ground-to-ground missiles, triggered alarms throughout the nation and prompted residents to seek shelter.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu characterized the Iranian assault as a grave error, asserting during a Security Cabinet meeting that Iran will face repercussions. He emphasized Israel’s resolve to respond decisively.

IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari labeled the missile strikes a significant escalation, warning, “Iran’s attack is a severe and dangerous escalation. There will be consequences. We will respond wherever, whenever and however we choose, in accordance with the directive of the government of Israel.”

In the aftermath of the attacks, Israeli rescue services reported minor injuries in Tel Aviv due to shrapnel, alongside property damage in the city’s northern sector. Fortunately, there have been no confirmed fatalities.

Israel Closes Airspace Amid Security Concerns

To ensure safety, Israel’s Airports Authority announced a temporary closure of the airspace, rerouting incoming flights. Neighbouring nations, including Jordan and Iraq, also closed their airspace, citing security concerns.

Explosions rang out across Israel, attributed to both the interception of Iranian missiles and some that landed in Israeli territory.

The Israeli Defense Forces confirmed that a significant number of the incoming missiles were intercepted, with support from the United States in monitoring and countering the threats.

Major General Herzi Halevi, Chief of Staff, stated that Israel demonstrated its defense capabilities while maintaining civil order. He asserted, “We will choose when to collect the price, and prove our precise and surprising attack capabilities, in accordance with the guidance of the political echelon.”

In Iran, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for the missile attacks, framing them as retaliation for Israel’s actions against key figures, including Hamas and Hezbollah leaders, and alleged aggressions against Palestinians.

The IRGC cautioned that any Israeli counterattacks would result in further devastating responses.
